unbeliever

A term found almost exclusively in the Letters of Paul, where it apparently denotes any person who is not a member of the Christian community (1Cor 6:6; 1Cor 7:12-15; 1Cor 10:27; 1Cor 14:22-24; 2Cor 4:4; 2Cor 6:14-15; also (Rom 15:31), where a different Greek word is thus translated).
